MeowCo Cat of the Month – June 2021

Say hello to our ‘Cat Dad’ Special Winners Jake and Zhiva… here is what Jake had to say when we announced that he’d won!

This is the greatest accolade ever, thankyou!

The only facts you need to know about me are that I adore animals, I work with dogs for a living but have grown up with cats and you’ll always find me at a party either fussing the cat or dogs.

Here’s some facts about the actual star of the show Zhiva. She’s X percentage Russian blue, we have no paperwork but she was sold to us as one at 12 weeks old as her previous owner was allergic.

Zhiva isn’t 100% Russian blue as she has mixed yellow/green eyes and white tootsies and half a moustache as you can see. We got her because I have severe cat allergies (ironic) and she barely moults. As a breed they’re as close to hypoallergenic as can get. She’s teeny, the smallest fully grown cat I know of but she rules the roost in our household.

She steals full bags of dog treats and hides them at the top of her cat tree, an impressive feat in itself considering she’s not much bigger than the bags.

Zhiva regularly rearranges our ornaments and any teddies, you’ll find them in very strange places. She’s an independent soul that views litter trays as a constrict created by the man and rebels frequently. She’s the clumsiest cat I’ve ever known, apparently cats don’t always land on their feet. She regularly rolls off furniture, trips over things and in general causes havoc like her hooman mummy!
